"Ouch. When you get
those feelings, insurance companies start to go bankrupt." -
Al Powell when he hears that John McClane "has a feeling"
Why watch this? It's
hard for any sequel to match its predecessor. This one tries,
maybe a little too hard.
Plot Summary:
Two
years after the events in Die
Hard, NYC police officer, John McClane, is back on the East
Coast. It's a wintry Christmas Eve, and he's at Dulles Airport,
waiting on his wife's flight to arrive. Coincidentally, a
corrupt military General's plane is also landing so he can be
extradited for trafficking drugs. You can guess where all this
is going. McClane gets wise to a plot to bust out the General,
and tells airport personnel. Of course, nobody will listen to
him. So, like the bull-necked fella he is, it's time to take
down the bad guys all by his lonesome.
Dad's Preview: This film suffers from a
need to "go bigger", which is impossible when trying to outdo
perhaps the greatest action film of all time. The results are
stunts that are completely unbelievable, too many unnecessary
f-words from the film's hero, and contrived characters inserted
just to make our hero's life even harder. That said, it is
always great to see Mr. Willis portray the brave, sassy,
no-nonsense cop, who is just trying to save his wife the day
before Christmas. Let the explosions begin!
