Why watch this?
Can someone find true love a second time in one lifetime?
Plot Summary:
After his wife passes away, a grieving Seattle architect
reluctantly opens up about his loneliness on a national radio
talk show, prompted by his young son's concern. A
Baltimore-based journalist, engaged to someone else, hears the
broadcast and becomes convinced she is meant to be with him
despite having never met.
Dad's Preview:
It was a good idea to pair Hanks and Ryan, then turn Nora Ephron
loose with them - they are so completely adorable. This was a
"gap" film for the comedian Hanks as he was transforming into a
more serious roles. And Meg Ryan, her face was designed to look
weepy. This tear-jerkin', chick-flicky, romantic comedy will
leave you grasping for tissues, since it's complicated with
death, distance and a step-child. If you are a he-man, like me,
just bite the bullet, make a fire, and put this on for you and
your special someone.
