Plot Summary:
After his wife passes away, a grieving Seattle architect
reluctantly opens up about his loneliness on a national radio
talk show, prompted by his young son's concern. A
Baltimore-based journalist, engaged to someone else, hears the
broadcast and becomes convinced she is meant to be with him
despite having never met.

Dad's Preview:
It was a good idea to pair Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, then turn Nora Ephron
loose with them - they are so completely adorable. This is
considered a
"gap" film for the comedian Hanks, as he was transitioning
into more serious roles. For Meg Ryan, her face is
either smiling or looking
weepy. This tear-jerkin', chick-flicky, romantic comedy will
leave you grasping for tissues, since it's complicated with
death, distance and the fate of a step-child. If you are a he-man, like me,
just bite the bullet, make a fire, and put this on for you and
your special someone. You'll score some major points.
