Dad's Preview:
There are some great moments in this expensive Michael Bay WWII
film. This includes the 40-minute bombing of the American naval
forces at Pearl Harbor, and eventual bombing of Tokyo as part of
the secret Doolittle raid. This film was trying very hard to be
the World War II version of the uber-successful historical rom-dram,
Titanic
(1997) - not an easy task. This
film revolves around a love triangle between two best
friends and a beautiful nurse. The result is a film that
could have been great, but ends up being, well, above
average. Simply put, it's romance falls flat, thanks to
some bland dialogue and unconvincing performances. |
