Why watch this? Once
again, Bond, one more time.
Plot Summary:
After leaving active service and settling into a quiet life,
James Bond is recruited by an old friend to help track down a
missing scientist. The mission brings him back into the fold of
international espionage, leading to a confrontation with a
dangerous new adversary armed with deadly, modern technology.
Ultimately, the past catches up to Bond, forcing him to make the
ultimate sacrifice to protect his loved ones and stop a threat
to the world.
Dad's Preview:
This extravagant, if a bit too long, wrap-up to Craig's run as
James Bond is everything a Bond film should be. There are
beautiful gals galore (I particularly enjoyed the brief
appearance of Ana de Arma - she's electric), cliff-hangers
aplenty, explosions around every corner, and, uniquely, an
ending to remember. Craig restored Bond to the edgy,
quasi-chauvinistic, man-of-action we fondly loved from Connery's
famous run. Then, the filmmakers added a dash of humanity,
brilliantly sprinkled on top, and that gave this final film the
gravitas it needed. Daniel Craig did win me over and I
did enjoy these films. This was a welcome return for true
Bond movie fans.
