Why watch this?
I know the subject is prostitution, but it's such a sweet film.
Plot Summary:
Chuck Lumley is a mild-mannered man who works the night shift at
a morgue. His quiet world is disrupted by the arrival of an
enthusiastic new coworker named Bill Blazejowski. Bill, a
self-proclaimed "idea man," proposes that he and Chuck start a
profitable, albeit illegal, side business out of the morgue with
the help of Chuck's neighbor Belinda, a prostitute. Chuck
initially resists the idea, but his growing feelings for Belinda
and Bill's relentless enthusiasm lead him to participate in the
scheme
Dad's Preview: Two
schmucks, who meet working at a morgue, decide to start a prostitution ring to protect some friendly
prostitutes from
their abusive pimps. The late shift is the perfect time to set up
their own nocturnal business
operations, and the morgue has lots of room. Let
the hilarity ensue!
This film was my introduction to Michael Keaton, and honestly,
he had to grow on me. The film works because Keaton's over-the-top zaniness plays
well against Henry Winkler's wimpy push-over character. Stay up
late for this great '80s comedy.
