Plot Summary:
Robert McCall finds himself struggling to connect with his past
while seeking a quiet life in Southern Italy, where he has
befriended the local residents. When the local mafia begins
brutally terrorizing his new friends and threatening their
peaceful town, McCall vows to protect them. Forced out of
retirement, he must use his specialized skills to take down the
crime organization.

Dad's Preview:
It finally occurred to me that these Equalizer
films are actually anti-action in nature.
Denzel's portrayal, of a man with special skills, is
calm, understated and way more powerful than any "hero"
screaming, blasting and cussing at the bad guys. He's a
guy with unlimited skills, yet he cannot be bought or
compromised. He's the vigilante we wish would go into
our dirty little places and fix things - being our
honorable, decent hero - ridding the world of the money
and power-grubbing scumbags. Yeah, that's why I like
him. This ain't no
Die
Hard, but it's fun to watch, and Robert McCall
is easy to root for. |
