"Three weeks ago we wouldn't be having this conversation but I'm here now. I'm really beginning to like this place. And the people. I'm starting to believe from the bottom of my heart that this is where I'm supposed to be. So whatever it is you and your friends do please, do it somewhere else." - Robert McCall

Why watch this? Denzel is a master class on cool.

Plot Summary: Robert McCall finds himself struggling to connect with his past while seeking a quiet life in Southern Italy, where he has befriended the local residents. When the local mafia begins brutally terrorizing his new friends and threatening their peaceful town, McCall vows to protect them. Forced out of retirement, he must use his specialized skills to take down the crime organization.

Dad's Preview: It finally occurred to me that these Equalizer films are actually anti-action in nature. Denzel's portrayal, of a man with special skills, is calm, understated and way more powerful than any "hero" screaming, blasting and cussing at the bad guys. He's a guy with unlimited skills, yet he cannot be bought or compromised. He's the vigilante we wish would go into our dirty little places and fix things - being our honorable, decent hero - ridding the world of the money and power-grubbing scumbags. Yeah, that's why I like him. This ain't no Die Hard, but it's fun to watch, and Robert McCall is easy to root for.
