"Heh? Well, maybe later, Father. 'Cause where I am going, I'd just have to come right back." - El Mariachi, when the priest asks if he wants to offer confession

Why watch this? The chemistry between Banderas and Hayek, and all the shooting.

Plot Summary: IA mysterious musician known as El Mariachi wanders into a rough Mexican border town, carrying a guitar case filled with weapons and looking for vengeance against the drug lord who destroyed his life. Along with a local bookstore owner, he engages in relentless, high-octane battles against the criminal cartel that controls the area. Armed with fiery determination and stylized action, he seeks to resolve his past wounds and stop the violence in a town teeming with corruption.

Dad's Preview: As is director Robert Rodriguez's calling card, this film is high on octane, bloody violence and choreographed gun play. Our murdering hero slices through Mexicans in a small town like they are wheat before a scythe. He stops only long enough to court and bed the town's buxom librarian. Banderas, with his long ebony locks, is gorgeous enough alone, but team him up with sultry Salma Hayek, and its cinematic sexual dynamite. These two are the definition of beauty. Throw in a few actor cameos, and we got a film! True, the story is thin, but plot not really the point, is it? Blast away, Mariachi!
