Plot Summary: Former
dolphin trainer Ric O'Barry and a team of filmmakers and
activists embark on a covert mission to Taiji, Japan. They aim
to infiltrate a heavily guarded, secretive inlet where local
fishermen annually trap and slaughter thousands of dolphins.
Ultimately, the crew uses hidden, state-of-the-art cameras to
expose the grim ecological and marine industry practices hidden
from the public.

Dad's Preview:
Most documentary films are created to expose truth or the
commission of crimes. This tracks a group of environmentalists
who seek to expose the killing of dolphins (that's right, like
TV's Flipper) in a secluded cove near Taiji, Japan. The film
crew braves the local authorities who are not interested in this
story getting out. The crew installs hidden cameras that capture
some really horrifying footage of the slaughter. The water is
literally turned red. This is what happens when greedy fisherman
think they can operate outsides of international laws. I hope
this documentary helped to ruin their profits. |
