Spirit of Christmas Present
Why watch this?
I've always preferred this version of the classic Scrooge story.
Plot Summary: On
Christmas Eve, the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the
ghost of his deceased partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns
Scrooge that he will be visited by three spirits who will show
him the errors of his ways. These spectral encounters reveal
Scrooge's past, present, and potential future, challenging his
cold-hearted nature. Scrooge is then given a chance to change
his life and embrace the spirit of the holiday.
Dad's Preview:
If you think this story is ancient and does not apply
today, you'd be wrong. We all live busy lives. We all neglect to
help those in need. We scoff at the real meaning of
Christmas, caught up in its commerciality. This film may help us find that
child-like wonder again. The
ghost visitations affect me more the older I get, and
come face-to-face with my own mortality.
