Plot Summary: In a future ravaged by climate change, a highly advanced child android programmed to feel human emotion is adopted as a test case by a family whose own son is in suspended animation. When their real son recovers and returns home, the android boy is abandoned in the woods, setting him on a perilous journey to find the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, believing she can turn him into a "real boy" and make his mother love him again.

Dad's Preview: What I love about film, as a story-telling medium, is that many genres can be used to get us (humanity) to think about our plight, reason for living, etc. Here, the brilliant Spielberg was handed a bogged-down project from the great director Stanley Kubrick. Steven finally made the film... and thank goodness. It feels both vintage and modern, as the dystopian flick uses an orphaned android child to show us what it means to be human. Haley Joel Osment renders a truly incredible performance. This film, as I am sure Spielberg and Kubrick would have wanted, will give you a lot to ponder about "us" and where we are heading.
