"The revolution? When
the shooting stops, and the dead are buried, and the politicians
take over, it all adds up to one thing: a lost cause." -
Bill Dolworth
Why watch this? I do
like Western movies about men with, let's say, specialized
talents and questionable motives.
Plot Summary:
In 1917 along the Mexican-US border, a highly-skilled group of
men-for-hire are enlisted to find a wealthy rancher's kidnapped
wife, who has been carried off into deepest Mexico. As the
group's mission progresses, they learn that things are not as
they seem. They observe, from a distance, the kidnapped wife,
Maria Grant, willingly embracing her captor, Jesus Raza. They
assume they have been betrayed. Regardless, they re-acquire her,
and Raza himself, as an additional captive.
Dad's Preview:
This scenic Western
action flick was beautifully shot in the desert towers of
Monument Valley. There's gunplay aplenty and a couple of
well-placed plot twists. It is always a treat to have
Lancaster, Ryan, Marvin and Strode on the same team, battling
away for the cause of the day. Yee Haw and pass the cornbread!
