"Mr. O'Rourke, your
state of mind after you tuck your horses in is hardly any of my
concern. I'm sure you can find some other misguided female to
take their place." - Eve Barrett
Why watch this?
Comedy. Romance. Swimming. Polo. It's all here.
Plot Summary:
Swimsuit designer Eve Barrett attempts to protect her younger
sister from a charming South American polo player, only to find
herself falling for him instead. Meanwhile, her sister mistakes
the polo player's comedic sidekick for the athlete, creating a

Dad's Preview:
This charming little musical romantic comedy was one of my late
sister's favorites. After finally viewing it, I know why. She
loved all things Latino. This film features a charming hispanic
lead in Ricardo Montalban and the beautiful, athletic Esther
Williams, known for her "aquamusicals". With Red Skelton
handling all the comedic gags, Esther and Montalban are free to
engage in playful game of cat and mouse, all based on a silly
misunderstanding. It was nice to hear Montalban crooning a bit,
especially during a duet featuring today's holiday favorite,
"Baby, It's Cold Outside" - it won the Oscar for Best Song. |
