Plot Summary:
A powerful media mogul named Bill Parrish is visited by Death,

Dad's Preview:
Films in which Death is personified are incredibly interesting.
We've seen the entity as the dark Grim Reaper in
Monty
Python's Meaning of Life (1983), and a stern-faced chess
player as portrayed in
The Seventh
Seal (1957). Here Death assumes the body of a regular
Joe (well, it's Brad Pitt whose boyish good-looks are anything
but regular). As Joe Black interacts with Bill
Parish, he is direct, yet clumsy to humanity's ways. He becomes
infatuated with Bill's pretty, vulnerable daughter, Susan. Pitt
does a pretty good job with the role, however the rock of this
romantic weeper is the dependable Anthony Hopkins. As a man and
loving father whose time on Earth is up, his maturity and wisdom
passes on valuable lessons regarding the subject of life and how
to live it. Some of the romantic scenes are just a tad too long,
but this effort is a suitable date movie that will give you lots
to talk about. |
