Why watch this?
This is the OG 80's sci-fi movie that created the Stranger Things
vibe.
Plot Summary:
After an alien is accidentally left behind on Earth, he is
discovered by a young boy named Elliott. From the beginning, the

endeavors to keep the alien, whom they dub E.T., a secret from
their mother and a determined group of government agents seeking
to study the over-worldly being.
Dad's Preview:
Spielberg's first alien film was
Close
Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), and this flick
takes a natural next step. Here he gives us a wonderful
children's film about a being that is stranded on Earth. He
encounters a typical 1980's family, taking particular interest in a young boy
named Elliott. The benevolent creature is curious and quickly
learns to communicate with the children. The film's glowing
strength is really the heart-felt interactions between E.T. and
the innocent children. This film will make your
heart glow, too.
